Onyx™

Onyx™ is BCM's complete interactive TV platform specifically built for broadcasters and cable providers in order to enhance local programming and advertisements with interactive events.

Onyx allows local broadcasters and cable providers to utilize and deploy various EBIF-based ETV applications for use with programming and ads. Onyx has two primary components, Onyx Vantage™, a web-based ETV application management system, and Onyx MetaCast™, a server that inserts EBIF interactive events into the broadcast stream.

Onyx integrates with existing automation systems, enabling automatic insertion, and works with live programming such as news and sports. BCM provides the following services to Onyx-enabled broadcaster and cable operator clients:

  • Installation, management and maintenance of hardware located in broadcast television stations, broadcast networks and cable system headends
  • Design, development, hosting and maintenance of web-based suite of applications for creating, scheduling and reconciling of interactive events
  • Design, development, and maintenance of EBIF software applications designed for cable television set-top boxes
  • Completely electronic fulfillment services, in order to provide low cost, high efficiency solutions for our partners, and convenient and easily usable solutions for viewers
  • Customer service, support and training for all BCM hardware and software components
  • Sales and marketing consultation and support for broadcast and cable sales teams

Onyx is interoperable with leading cable and broadcast equipment including Triveni GuideBuilder, Harris NetVX, DTV Innovations, Logic Innovations, BigBand BMR, Motorola Cherrypicker, Fourthwall Media EBIF User Agent, TV Works EBIF User Agent, and more.
